I had a good evening tonight on the phone to Swaziland, I managed to teach Ncobili and Precious how to write texts, on their cell phones (they are both completly blind). Just by explaining that ABC are on No2 on the keypad CDE are on No3 etc, then that you press key2 twice in order to type B etc,Then when they have that just getting them to tell me what getting them to tell me what kepad number and how many times topress it spell CAT or Bed etc. It often surprises me how such a simple thing like explaining this, will make such a big difference to these girls lives. I am looking forward to getting my first texts from them this week.
